Letter from a teenager, to make us think

When I was a teenager, on one occasion I was with my father standing in line to buy tickets for the circus. In the end, there was only one family between the window and us.

This family impressed me. There were eight children, all probably under twelve. I know I saw that did not have much money, the clothes they wore was not expensive, but they were clean. The kids were well behaved, all standing in line, of two parents behind, holding hands well.

They talked excitedly clowns, elephants and other numbers that would be that night. You could tell who had never been to the circus. That visit, promised to be an outstanding event in his life. The father and mother were at the head of the group, standing proud. The mother, her husband's hand, looking at him as if to say "You're my knight in shining armor." He smiled, swollen with pride and looking like answering: "You're right."

The employee at the counter asked the father how many tickets he wanted. He replied proudly: "Please give me eight innings for children and two adults, to bring my family to the circus." The clerk told him the price ...

She dropped her hand from her husband, cocked his head and lip man began to twist. This came a little closer and asked, "How much did he say?". The employee returned to repeat ... the price.

How was I going to turn and tell his eight children did not have enough money to take them to the circus ?.

Seeing what was happening, Dad put his hand into his pocket, pulled out a twenty dollar bill and threw it to the ground. We were not rich at all. My father reached down, picked up a ticket, play the man on the shoulder and said, "Excuse me, sir, you dropped this pocket."

The man realized what was happening. He had not asked for alms, but certainly appreciated the help in a desperate, anxious and uncomfortable situation. He looked at my father in the eye, with both hands he took hers, squeezed twenty dollar bill and with trembling lips and a tear rolling down his cheek, he replied: "Thank you, thank you sir.

This really means a lot to my family and me. "Dad and I returned to our car and went home.

That night we did not go to the circus, but we did not go without anything ...
